Data & Attributions

SaferBaby's product catalog is built on open, publicly-licensed databases. We're grateful to the communities and agencies that maintain them, and we honor the attribution and license terms each one requires. Our own contributions — safety scoring, curated ingredient knowledge, and written explanations — are ours; the underlying product facts remain under the licenses below.

Much of our product data — barcodes, names, brands, ingredient lists, and images — comes from Open Food Facts and its sister projects Open Beauty Facts and Open Products Facts, a collaborative, free, open database made by contributors around the world.

This data is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0, and individual contents under the Database Contents License. Product photos are provided by contributors, often under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike. © Open Food Facts contributors.

Nutrition and ingredient data for many packaged foods comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's FoodData Central, which is in the public domain (CC0 1.0).

Ingredient safety context is informed by public regulatory sources, including the European Commission's CosIng cosmetic-ingredient database (reused under the EU's open reuse terms) and U.S. Food & Drug Administration data and recall notices (public domain).

Product names, brand names, and logos are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only. Their appearance does not imply any endorsement of SaferBaby.
