Privacy Policy

SaferBaby is built privacy-first. Your child's health information never leaves your device, and we don't sell your data to anyone. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the control you have over it.

It covers the SaferBaby mobile app and the saferbaby.app website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Child profiles & health data: Names, dates of birth, allergies, conditions, and notes you enter about a child are stored locally on your device only. Personalized safety scoring for a specific child runs on-device against that local profile. This information is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Account (if you sign in): If you choose to sign in with Apple, we store the anonymized account identifier Apple provides and, if you share it, your email address. We use this only to sync your history and saved items across your devices and to associate your reviews with your account. You can use most of the app without signing in.

Scan & saved history:If you are signed in, the barcodes you scan and products you save are stored with your account so your history is available across devices. You can clear your history or delete your account at any time (see "Your rights" below). If you are not signed in, this stays on your device.

Product lookups: When any product barcode is looked up, the barcode is sent to our product database to return safety information. Anonymous lookups are not tied to a person.

Reviews you post: Ratings and reviews you submit are publicand shown to other users next to a display name or a non-identifying pseudonym. Don't include personal or sensitive information in a review. See our Terms for the content rules.

Affiliate link clicks:When you tap a "Buy" link we record that a click happened, to which retailer, and for which product, so we can measure and get credit for referrals. We store only a truncated network address (a coarse prefix, never your full IP) and we do not attach your identity to it. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Anonymous analytics: We may collect aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics (for example, total scans per day) to improve the Service. This cannot be used to identify you or your family.

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not send your child's health data off your device.
• We do not store full IP addresses for affiliate tracking.
• We do not show third-party advertising in the app.

Retailers (Amazon, Walmart, and others): When you tap a "Buy" link you are taken to that retailer's site, which may set its own cookies and is governed by its privacy policy. We earn a commission on qualifying purchases (see the Affiliate Disclosure). We do not share your personal information with retailers.

Infrastructure & sign-in: We use Apple Sign In for authentication and standard cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services) to run the Service. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Account, history, and saved data are kept until you delete them or delete your account. Reviews remain until you remove them or we remove them under our content rules. Affiliate-click and anonymous analytics records are retained only as long as needed for reporting and fraud prevention.

• Use the app without an account (most features work signed-out).
• Clear your scan/saved history from within the app at any time.
• Delete your account and associated server-side data at any time.
• Edit or delete reviews you've posted.
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data (including rights under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA) by emailing privacy@saferbaby.app. We do not sell data, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

SaferBaby is a tool for parents and caregivers, not a service directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Any information about a child that a caregiver enters stays on the caregiver's device as described above.

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
